Phytocontrol laboratory offers you a seminar led by its scientific director Mr Eric Capodanno on the theme of alkaloids.
Alkaloids are toxic secondary metabolites. These organic compounds, naturally present in some plant species, can be used to protect themselves from environmental factors.
Their analysis is the subject of a European Commission recommendation (n°2015/976/EU) which provides for monitoring of the potential contamination of foodstuffs which may be caused by these Datura alkaloids. A second recommendation is made by the DGCCRF concerning ergot alkaloids (2012/154/EU).
