Publication of Regulation (EU) N°2020/1085 concerning MRLs Chlorpyrifos and Chlorpyrifos-methyl

Regulation (EU) 2020/1085 and its corrigendum on Maximum Residue Limits for Chlorpyrifos and Chlorpyrifos-methyl has just been published in the OJEU.

As a reminder, Regulations (EU) 2020/17 and 2020/18 had signed the non-renewal of the approval of these two active substances with a grace period set at 16 April 2020.

Indeed, EFSA had confirmed the neurotoxic properties of these substances and could not rule out a genotoxic potential for the consumer.

The text sets an MRL at 0.01mg/kg for all foodstuffs falling within the scope of Annex I of Regulation (EU) 396/2005.

These new MRLs will enter into force from November 13, 2020.
