Following the publication of the Order of 6 April 2018 suspending the introduction into France of fresh cherries produced in a Member State of the European Union or a third country in which the use of dimethoate is authorised for the treatment of cherry trees, a notice listing the countries subject to certain conditions was published on 5 May.
The introduction into France of fresh cherries not produced organically, produced in certain Member States or third countries is subject to requirements.
Thus, the introduction into France of cherries from Austria, Croatia, Romania, Czech Republic, Canada and the United States is not authorised.
As regards third countries, the introduction of cherries from Argentina, Chile and Turkey is authorised.
However, the Notice leaves the possibility for importers to introduce fresh cherries being produced in third countries not listed provided that they are able to submit to the competent authorities an official attestation from the third country of production that no plant protection product containing the active substance dimethoate is authorised for treatment of cherries in that country.
