Decree No. 2018-675 of 30 July 2018 on the definition of active substances of the neonicotinoid family present in plant protection products was recently published.
This text is addressed to manufacturers of active plant protection substances, producers and users of plant protection products and seeds treated with such products.
Five neonicotinoid substances are banned:
- Acetamiprid
- Clothianidin
- Imidachloprid
- Thiacloprid
- Thiamethoxam
According to the
Biodiversity Act 2016: "The use of plant protection products containing an active substance or substances of the neonicotinoid family and seeds treated with such products shall be prohibited from 1 September 2018. »
As from 01/09/2018, the use of plant protection products containing one of these substances is prohibited for uses which are not subject to a derogation by ministerial order, in accordance with Article L. 253-8 of the Rural and Maritime Fisheries Code.
Derogations from the ban may be granted until 1 July 2020.
