What is ethephon?
The ethephon is a plant growth regulator used to promote the ripening of certain fruits such as tomatoes, beets or coffee. It can be used to simplify fruit harvesting and accelerate ripening downstream of the harvest.
Ethephon decomposes into ethylene, which can also be found under another name: R1150.
