We're off to work on the expansion of our new, cutting-edge, 5,500m² laboratory on the Georges Besse Science Park in Nîmes!
This avant-garde, eco-responsible facility, on which work began in spring 2024, will bring together all the Group's strategic activities in its 3 markets AgrifoodWaters and Biopharma.
The 2-storey site will also house Phytocontrol Audit, Conseil & Formation, as well as Zest HACCP, the digital solution that supports its customers in the area of Health Management Plans.
The whole complex will form a 12,000m² analytical platform, one of the largest and most technologically advanced in Europe, creating an integrated environment conducive to innovation, performance and employee well-being.
This additional space has been designed to accommodate 300 additional employees, including experienced technicians, scientists and IT staff, enabling the Group to grow in size over the coming years.
This investment of almost €15m will enable Phytocontrol to respond more effectively to all its customers' requests for analyses, strengthen its R&D department and ensure complete control of its supply chain.

This central structure will be at the cutting edge of technology and innovation. Artificial intelligence and process automation coupled with human action are at the heart of the project. The rooms dedicated to contaminant analysis, R&D, microbiology, biotechnology and technical services are calibrated to accommodate ultra-modern equipment with high production capacity.
The laboratory has been designed in line with Phytocontrol's CSR approach, with responsible purchasing of sustainable materials from mainly local suppliers. With a view to reducing its carbon footprint, photovoltaic panels will be installed to produce part of the electricity consumed, along with an energy recovery system
« This building will enable us to work on food and environmental safety in the best possible conditions. What's more, as the quality and conditions of working life are a priority for Phytocontrol, we wanted to offer our employees the chance to fulfil their potential and develop their potential: more than 400m² will be devoted to their well-being, thanks in particular to a roof terrace and a creative room », comments Mikaël Bresson, Chairman of the Phytocontrol Group.
