Our laboratory performs GMO analysis in real-time PCR, with the ability to scan all known markers and target events.
The great control of the regulatory environment of these analyses allows a relevant focus on GMO screenings by species (Soya, Maize, Rape, Rice, Cotton, Potato, Linseed, Beetroot) and multi-species, including the relevant markers and events, making it possible to cover the entire GMO risk.This novel approach pushes the investigation beyond the usual P35S/TNOS or RRS/RRS2 screenings, and multi-marker scans that do not provide exhaustive risk coverage.
As a reminder, GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) are living organisms whose genetic heritage has been modified by human intervention with the aim of:
• provide some plants with insect resistance,
• to facilitate weeding,
• to increase certain drought tolerance measures.
From the regulatory point of view, the European Union has put in place regulations to give European consumers the free choice to choose whether or not to consume GMOs, requiring that products containing them with a detection threshold higher than 0.9% be subject to specific labelling.
The Laboratory has an emergency capacity 24h for detection and 48h for detection and quantification.
