The European Commission fixes the authorisations of active substances on European soil but it is up to each Member State to define the plant protection uses authorised on their territory.
Indeed, in each country, the uses are defined for a plant protection product on one or more defined crops and these uses may differ from one country to another.
Some countries maintain public repositories for product/active ingredient registrations on each crop. Most of these databases allow the targeted search of products, active ingredients, status, culture, etc....
In the case of residue detection following an analysis, this upstream regulatory monitoring procedure ensures that the producer has complied with the plant protection uses authorised in his country. In France, it is the ANSES Ephy database that lists these national approvals. Fytoweb lists the Belgians, Mapama the Spanish, and NPU those of the United Kingdom.
In the context of pesticide residue analyses carried out in the laboratory, the declarations of conformity issued on the analytical reports concern compliance with Regulation (EU) No 396/2005 and its amendments, i.e. compliance with European maximum residue limits (MRLs).
The approvals of phytosanitary inputs on products grown in France can be communicated to you on request.
