Phytocontrol is pleased to announce the extension of its contaminant analysis offer with the development of a new method for the detection of biogenic amines.
Biogenic amines are naturally present in food (wine, fish, milk, cured meats, etc.) but, because of their properties, they can cause headaches, nausea, redness, etc., in sensitive people. Some such as putrescine and cadaverine may have an unpleasant smell. They are also used as a hygiene indicator, such as histamine in fish.
To meet its customers' control plan, Phytocontrol laboratory is able to analyse and quantify the main biogenic amines by liquid chromatography coupled with a mass spectrometer in milk and alcoholic beverages.
