PHYTOCONTROL is pleased to announce that in addition to your contaminant analyses, the R&D department has recently developed new analytical methods for the determination of lipophilic phycotoxins or DSP (Diarrheic Shellfish Poison), ASP (Amnesic Shellfish Poison) and PSP (Paralytic Shellfish Poison) phycotoxins in shellfish and shellfish products by LC/MS-MS. Aware of the important impact of the time required to deliver the analyses, Phytocontrol is able to release the results within 48 hours.
These marine biotoxins are toxic substances accumulated by bivalve molluscs, particularly when they feed on plankton containing toxins.
Depending on the amount and type of toxins present, the following symptoms may occur in humans: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, paralysis (lips, face, arms and/or legs), headache and/or dizziness.
Below is the list of toxins sought in the laboratory and the associated regulatory limits resulting from Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 laying down specific hygiene rules for food of animal origin (ANNEX III - SECTION VII - Chapter V):
Groupe | Substance | Limit | |
---|---|---|---|
