Four new amendments to regulation 2023/915 on contaminants have just been published.
The maximum perchlorate content in unshelled beans has been increased from 0.05 mg/kg to 0.15 mg/kg.
The regulation will apply from 25/04/2024.
The maximum levels for the sum of 3-MCPD and its GA esters in infant formulae, follow-on formulae, foods for special medical purposes intended for infants and young children and formulae for young children are increased from :
The regulation will apply from 01/01/2025.
Article 2 of this regulation specifies that foodstuffs legally placed on the market before 01/01/2025 may remain on the market until their expiry date.
Maximum DON levels have been lowered for all regulated matrices:
