Already capable of analysing SARS-CoV-2 and its Alpha variants, the Phytocontrol laboratory has adapted with the evolution of the virus and now offers the research and quantification of the Beta, Gamma and Delta variants in all types of water using the digital PCR method (dPCR).
The search for SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater allows for efficient and dynamic monitoring and detection of the progression of the epidemic on the national territory.
In early 2021, the scientific committees highlighted the appearance of two new variants: Beta (20H/501Y.V2), Gamma (20J/501Y.V3) and Delta. The wastewater monitoring system then initiated a sequencing search to identify variants that had not yet been described.
The deployment of the digital PCR test patented by I.A.G.E. enables the detection of all new viruses as soon as they appear anywhere in the world and with the greatest precocity.
Thanks to its partnership with I.A.G.E., a specialist in environmental biological analysis, Phytocontrol offers a complete, high-performance and rapid solution for the detection and quantification of SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater.
An innovative solution combined with a breakthrough technology, digital PCR, now makes it possible to identify and quantify the Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Delta variants in wastewater samples.
This method obtains reliable results on the estimation of SARS-CoV-2 RNA and thus makes it possible to reduce interference phenomena. In addition, it offers to have the results available within 48 hours after receipt of the sample in the laboratory.
The Phytocontrol laboratory, in partnership with I.A.G.E., can react rapidly to the mutation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which makes this method a major asset in the fight against the virus.
