In order to comply with the new regulations, Phytocontrol has updated its babyfood pesticide screening.
The new Delegated Regulation (EU) N°2021/1041 amending Delegated Regulation (EU) 2016/127 on the requirements for pesticides in infant formulae and follow-on formulae has just been published in the Official Journal of the European Union and into force on 15 July 2021.
For reasons of legal certainty and clarity, this regulation aligns the pesticide residue definitions set out in Regulation 2016/127 with the residue definitions set out in Regulation (EC) No 396/2005.
As a result, the following metabolites not included in the regulatory residue definitions set out in Regulation (EU) No 396/2005 are removed from the list of pesticides to be searched for:
However, Fipronil-sulfone, a metabolite of Fipronil, should be added to the definition of regulatory residues.
The Phytocontrol laboratory has updated this list in accordance with this new regulation and offers you the analysis of pesticide residues under COFRAC accreditation in baby food.
You can consult our COFRAC technical annex N°1-1904.
