Phytocontrol is approved by the Ministry of Health for the sanitary control of water. The laboratory is able to carry out under COFRAC accreditation the sampling and analysis of Legionella.
In the legionella family, Legionella pneumophila is mainly involved in cases of Legionellosis (severe respiratory infection). Legionella are found naturally in moist water and soil. The mode of contamination is inhalation of contaminated aerosols.
Sanitary hot water control (According to the Article 3 of the Order of 1 February 2010) and air-cooled towers (TAR) (Order of 14 December 2013), is the major challenge for the control of the sanitary risk linked to legionella.
In addition, circular DGS/EA4 N° 2010-448 of 21 December 2010 specifies that establishments remaining unoccupied for at least 6 consecutive weeks must ensure that there is no risk of legionella two weeks before receiving the public.
