The maleic hydrazide, chemical formula C4H4N2O2 is a regulator of growth applied essentially on garlic, onion, shallot, potato and carrot. When applied on healthy plants in growth, it is absorbed by the plant and affects the growth of the plant by interrupting the division of cells without affecting the expansion of cells.
The Research and Development department of PHYTOCONTROL has just finalized a new method of research for the maleic hydrazide thanks to a specific method of extraction and a detection by liquid chromatography high performance coupled in mass spectrometry in tandem (HPLC / MS / MS) allowing to reach a limit of quantification of 0.01 mg/kg on all kind of samples, so answering the requirements of the regulations on infantile food.
